As a dedicated educator and consultant, I bring over twenty years of experience to my work with students and families in the Bay Area. My journey is deeply rooted in a personal connection to education, which guides my equity-focused approach. I believe that building relationships while supporting social-emotional well-being along with a growth mindset paves the way for post-secondary success.
My career in education began in 1999, after I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Master's in Counseling Psychology, specializing in School Counseling and obtaining my PPS credential. I then began working as a school counselor with the San Francisco Unified School District, where I held various roles from 1999 to 2019.
In 2010, I returned to my alma mater, the University of San Francisco, to teach first-year school counseling graduate students. In 2014, after serving my school community as a counselor for 12 years, I transitioned into the role of Assistant Principal. Since leaving the school district, I have worked as an educational consultant and coach, supporting students and families through distance learning, mentoring students, and providing post-secondary advising. In 2021, I completed the Professional Program in College Admissions Counseling at UC Berkeley and continue to provide educational coaching and consultation to students and families.
My professional memberships include the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). I actively pay it forward by partnering with Asante Africa, most recently facilitating the development of a social-emotional curriculum for all of Asante's school programs. In 2024, I began volunteering with ScholarMatch, a nonprofit organization that provides college advising and career mentoring for first-generation students.
I live in San Francisco with my husband and two teenagers. We enjoy hiking and exploring our beautiful city with our dog. I am excited about the possibility of supporting you and your family as we navigate your educational path.
