My Story
I am a passionate educator and consultant with over 20 years of providing service to students and families in the Bay Area. I approach my work with an equity lens dedicated to building positive relationships, social-emotional wellness, and fostering a growth mindset to support post-secondary success.
My career in education started in 1999, graduating from the University of San Francisco, with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology (emphasis in School Counseling and PPS credential.) Shortly after graduation, I began working as a school counselor with the San Francisco Unified School District and served in various roles from 1999 to 2019.
In 2010, I received my school administration credential and returned to my alma mater, the University of San Francisco, to teach counseling practicum to first-year school counseling graduate students. In 2014, after serving my school community as a counselor for 12 years, I stepped into a new role as Assistant Principal. Since leaving the school district, I have worked as an educational consultant/coach, supporting students and families through distance learning, mentoring, and post-secondary advising. In May of 2021, I completed the Professional Program in College Admissions Counseling at UC Berkeley. I continue to provide educational coaching and consultation to students and families.
Professional memberships include the California Association of School Counselors (CASC), the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). I actively pay it forward by partnering with Asante Africa, most recently, facilitating the development of a social-emotional curriculum for all of Asante's school programs.
I live in San Francisco with my husband and two teenagers. We enjoy hiking and exploring our beautiful city. I look forward to supporting you and your family with your educational journey!
